Welcome back! Let's have another great weekend!
To kick us off here's my recommendation for your weekend soundtrack:
"Sherry." "Big Girls Dont Cry." And the rest!
My mom grew up in Mexico City and loved Las Cuatro Estaciones (that's Spanish for The Four Seasons, btw :P). So, when I heard "Sherry" last night while eating dinner at my favorite restaurant (Rudford's in North Park, San Diego. Shout-out!) I had some major flashback memories of listening to old records with her. Absolutely great vocal driven music! Check it out! And give your mom a hug!
Here's a pic out of a book I'm reading called The Inner Game of Tennis by W. Timothey Gallwey:
Pretty deep, huh? I dig it!
I want to rant and rave about electric guitar. It's the best, isn't it? How about that feeling you get when you're playing guitar through a tube amp and the natural compression is just right and without stepping on any effects at all you transition from playing rhythm to playing a solo and the notes just pop out of the amp run on sentence!? It feels like God is controlling your volume knob and giving you a little extra juice right when you need it. A rig I once had that did that was a cheap "Knox" guitar with a gold foil pickup through a coily cord going straight into my five watt Epiphone valve junior amp cranked full blooie. (Remember those amps? You can find em for less than $100 these days!) The whole rig was less than $400 but was so inspiring to play! Anyhow, go crank up your tube amps for me this weekend!
It's been real, y'all! Have a good weekend!
